DSM Dyneema is the inventor and manufacturer of Dyneema®, the world's strongest fibre™. Dyneema® is a super strong polyethylene fibre that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight. Compared to the same diameter wire cable, it is 1/7th the weight. On a weight-for-weight basis, it is up to 15 times stronger than steel.

Dyneema® floats on water and is extremely durable and resistant to moisture, UV light and chemicals. Dyneema® has extremely low elongation, meaning there will be little lash back if a breakage occurs, and it will not kink, curl or splinter like wire cable. A handy feature of the Dyneema® synthetic rope is that, should it break, you can splice it back together and safely complete the recovery. Dyneema® fibre is also used in body armour, mooring ropes, cables and nets in the fishing, shipping and offshore industries, and safety gloves for the metalworking industry.

Mean Mother uses only Genuine Dyneema® SK75 synthetic 12 strand rope kits. All pre-assembled kits include synthetic rope, inner and outer protective sleaves, clevis hook, stainless steel thimble and lug. Synthetic rope must be used with an hawse fairlead.

TIP: Not all synthetic rope is the same. Always insist on Dyneema® SK75 synthetic rope. Beware of imitations!
