The factory cup holder in the Mercedes X250D and X350D is one of those frustrating compromises. Two holders in theory, but only one actually usable thanks to the shallow secondary recess. The OEM cup holder was borrowed from the Nissan parts bin and was not the Mercedes engineers proudest decision! This replacement unit fixes that properly, giving you two genuine full-depth cup holders that securely hold drinks without wobble, plus a large full-depth rectangular pocket ideal for your phone, wallet or everyday carry items.
Designed from the ground up specifically for the Mercedes X-Class centre console, this unit integrates seamlessly into the interior with an OEM-style textured finish that is coherent with the factory trim. Fitment is precise, the proportions look factory, and once installed it feels like it should have come this way from Mercedes.
Manufactured in Australia using automotive-grade fibre-reinforced filament, this is not a flimsy 3D printed novelty part. It’s engineered for strength, heat resistance and long-term durability inside a vehicle cabin environment. Built tough, designed properly, and made in-house this is the cup holder the X-Class should have had from day one.
Installation Note:
During installation, the small plastic locating loops inside the centre console may need to be trimmed flush for the cup holder to
seat fully. These loops were used by the factory cup holder design and will interfere with the Tough Toys replacement unit. An
additional larger plastic mount tab will need to be removed in order to gain the full depth for the new cup holders. Trimming them
takes around a minute using side cutters or stanley knife. Once removed, the cup holder drops straight into place and the modification
is completely hidden once installed. See the photos below for before and after the modifications needed.
